Sir Giles Lynchwood is nearly everything he desires - wealthy and powerful as a Conservative MP. However, two issues frustrate him: his decaying mansion and Lady Maud's desire to conceive with him despite his reluctance due to her strong will. To resolve these challenges, Sir Giles concocts an ambitious plan involving the construction of a motorway through his estate. Frustrated by this scheme, Maud discovers it and decides to fight back, enlisting the help of Blott, an eccentric foreign handyman who owes her father significant debts. Together, they set out to thwart the motorway plans and transform their ancestral home into a safari zoo, driven by both determination and a desire for independence from Sir Giles.
