Henry Wilt, a struggling teacher, daydreams of killing his overbearing wife Eva. At a party, he becomes embarrassed when stuck to an inflatable doll. He later discards the doll at a construction site, but the police, led by Inspector Flint, suspect him of murdering his wife after she goes missing.
