Edward Asner plays Horace McNickle, a two-time felon who escapes from prison dressed as Santa Claus due to his resemblance to the jolly old man. He hides out in a suburban neighborhood, where he befriends two local children who believe he's the real Santa. As he helps them, McNickle begins to understand the true meaning of Christmas.
