A legendary diamond, the Green Emerald, is forged with golden metal to create the coin-like "Maragadha Naanayam". Given by a goddess to a king as a reward for his penance, it grants him the strength to conquer many countries. After his death, the stone is placed in his tomb, where it remains untouched for fear of the king's vengeful spirit, Irumbarazan. However, in 1990, someone steals the stone, only to meet a gruesome end. Over the next 132 years, anyone who touches the stone falls victim to Irumbarazan's wrath. When a hero takes on the challenge to retrieve the stone from a small Don for a hefty sum, he faces a daunting task. With the help of an astronomer, he discovers a way to call upon the spirit of one who died from the stone's curse, hoping to finally claim the Green Emerald.
