International Crime

Amateur criminologist and detective Lamont Cranston, host of a popular daily radio program sponsored by the Daily Classic newspaper, has a long-standing feud with Police Commissioner that occasionally escalates into something more serious.

Lamont Cranston, an amateur detective and radio host, is at odds with Police Commissioner Weston over his new assistant, Phoebe Lane, who is the publisher's niece. When Phoebe provides a tip about an upcoming robbery, Cranston investigates and discovers a murder at the home of international banker Gerald Morton. Despite being jailed as a material witness, Cranston is freed by Phoebe and later poses as a new arrival from Europe to gather information on the suspects. He breaks into Flotow's apartment with Phoebe, where they uncover a meeting scheduled at Morton's home that afternoon.
