Joe Clay, a skilled public-relations expert, can make any client's wish come true, from hiring dancers to securing magazine coverage. His ability to drink appears limitless, but his life takes a turn when he meets Kirsten Arnesen, who prefers chocolate over liquor. Joe introduces her to Brandy Alexander, a drink made with brandy and crème de cacao. The couple gets married, but their love is unable to withstand the destructive power of alcohol.
