In the movie, Jack Hartounian, a self-made man, strives to join the prestigious Bushwood County Club to impress his daughter's snobbish friends. However, his application is hindered by his boorish behavior and his plan to build affordable housing in an upscale neighborhood. Undeterred, Jack purchases shares from Ty Webb, the majority shareholder, and takes over the club, implementing changes that the members strongly object to. The conflict escalates as the club members attempt to stop Jack's housing project, ultimately leading to a showdown on the golf course, where the club president takes precautions.
