Two blind masseurs, Toku and Fuku, journey to a mountain retreat to work for the season. They navigate interactions with their blind colleagues and various guests, including a mysterious woman from Tokyo, whose scent Toku is drawn to. As the woman befriends another Tokyo visitor with his young nephew, the bored boy seeks entertainment by meeting with the woman and Toku. However, a series of thefts at the inns soon after their arrival sparks Toku's suspicion that one of these guests may be behind the mischief.
