Out of work actor Joe Harper volunteers to stage a Christmas production of Hamlet at his sister's local church, despite his agent's reservations. He assembles a cast of available actors willing to work on a profit-sharing basis, resulting in a diverse group of individuals with their own personal struggles. Against all odds, something special begins to unfold in the village of Hope.
