In the summer of 1986 in a small Scottish town, Jimmy and Tully ignite a brilliant friendship based on music, films, and rebellion. As school ends, they embark on a magical weekend in Manchester, the epicenter of working-class culture. Against a soundtrack of legendary songs, they make their vow to live differently. Despite growing apart as adults, Jimmy still carries Tully's influence deeply, even celebrating their 50th birthday with newfound optimism. When news reaches them that Tully is terminally ill and in need of organ donations, their bond is pushed to the limit.
