In 1876, Deadwood, South Dakota was a lawless town in chaos after the Custer massacre. Wild Bill Hickok, a disillusioned ex-lawman, and Seth Bullock, seeking a fresh start, arrived in the town. They soon found themselves at odds with Al Swearengen, the ruthless saloon owner and hotel operator. The lives of these three men became entwined with the town's residents, including high-minded individuals and low-lifes.
