In a Viking village, Chief Halvar tasks his clever and resourceful son Wickie with stealing from a group of knights. However, the warriors fail to notice Wickie being taken along with a cargo of Eskimo slaves who possess a mysterious manuscript. The manuscript contains the location of the eternal ice palace, where the Norse gods' treasure is hidden. Wickie and a reluctant thief who has stowed away on the ship work together to decipher the manuscript, but before they can set sail, they are drugged and the chief is kidnapped. With the chieftaincy now falling to him, Wickie must navigate the challenges of leadership and grow up quickly.
