The Yellow Tomahawk background

The Yellow Tomahawk

A treaty is disregarded, and a fort is constructed on Native American land, ignoring the warnings of a vigilant scout, leading to a potentially disastrous outcome.

In Wyoming Territory, a temporary Army camp is being built, but the construction of a permanent fort is underway on Cheyenne lands, defying a treaty. A scout with friendly ties to the Cheyenne, Adam Reed, is asked to deliver a warning message to Major Ives, including a yellow tomahawk, urging him to stop the fort's construction. However, Major Ives ignores the warning and refuses to heed Reed's words, considering the scout a traitor.
