Provincial police officer Franz Eberhofer faces new challenges when he's transferred to Munich as a punishment. He moves in with his quirky friend Rudi and his boss, Thin Lizzy, and longs to return to his hometown of Niederkaltenkirchen. However, his biggest test awaits him there: Karl-Heinz Fleischmann, his former classmate, has returned and is now a successful businessman courting Franz's girlfriend Susi.
