My Boy Jack background

My Boy Jack

"A pair of desperate parents embark on a perilous journey to find their 18-year-old son, who has vanished during the chaos of World War I, in a heart-wrenching quest to reunite with their loved one."

English author Rudyard Kipling uses his influence to get his nearly 18-year-old son John, admitted to military service during World War I despite his poor eyesight. John is enrolled in the Irish Guards and eventually becomes a platoon commander in France. After suffering heavy losses, John is reported missing just after his 18th birthday. His mother, Caroline "Carry" Kipling, relentlessly searches for the truth, using her husband's influence and the support of half of England. The truth ultimately reveals a harsh reality of war, filled with gore and guilt.
