In the late 19th century Wyoming Territory, a lawless region, traveling judge John Goodnight arrives in Rollins, where he reunites with former flame Callie Bluepointe. Callie's son Will, suspected of being involved in a recent bank robbery, is captured and faces a lynch mob mentality. John must protect Will until he gets a fair trial, while also dealing with his own lawyer hatred and the corrupt lawyer Lucius Breed.
