Dr. Rosemary Walsh, a convicted mercy killer, is taken hostage by gangsters Nick and Baldy, who break out their molls from a state prison farm. After being released on a country road, Rosemary finds a shack and helps a man named Luke Walker, whose leg is broken. She meets local doctor Steve Carey, who takes her to his plantation and they develop a romantic relationship.
