Chronicles the individual journeys of a man and woman who arrive on a mysterious island at different times. The story is told over six episodes in two distinct halves. In "Summer," directed by Marc Munden (Utopia (2013), National Treasure (2016)), Sam, played by Jude Law, encounters a group of islanders set against preserving their traditions. "Winter," directed by Philippa Lowthorpe (Three Girls (2017), Swallows and Amazons (2016)), follows Helen, portrayed by Naomie Harris, as she arrives seeking answers but finds herself entangled in a contentious battle over the island's future. On its UK broadcast, "Autumn" is presented first, bridging "Summer" and "Winter."
