Bill Austin, a struggling author, lives with his wife Bertie, a dental assistant, and their 7-year-old daughter Julie in a small flat in New York. When his novel becomes a viral sensation, he and his family move to a luxurious house in Connecticut, where they befriend their eccentric neighbors.
