In the 1930s, the city of Oss in the Netherlands' southern province of Brabant was plagued by a crime wave, prompting the military police from the north to intervene. As the gang's grip on the city tightened, it became clear that even respected local figures, including clerics, were involved in sex crimes and fraud. This escalating conflict ultimately led to the downfall of the pre-war 'Colijn' administration. Against this backdrop, a young woman named Johanna struggled to escape the web of crime that surrounded her, only to find herself increasingly entangled in fraud, prostitution, and eventually, murder.
