In a Bedouin village in Southern Israel, a family's secrets and struggles come to a head at a tense and awkward celebration. Jalila, the mother, is hiding her anger and humiliation over her husband's second marriage, while her daughter Layla is reeling from the discovery of her forbidden love affair. As the day unfolds, the two women's individual battles to survive and thrive in a traditional society ultimately lead to their family's downfall. In the end, they must learn to see the world from each other's perspectives in order to survive.
