Floating Weeds background

Floating Weeds

A Japanese theatre troupe leader rediscovers a son he abandoned years ago, who now mistakenly believes him to be his uncle, and embarks on a journey to reconnect with his child while confronting the complex emotions of his own past.

A second-rate Japanese acting troupe, led by Komajuro, returns to a coastal town they haven't visited in twelve years. The troupe's arrival sparks a mix of excitement and tension, as some members pursue local women while others keep secrets. Komajuro, the troupe's lead actor, has a personal agenda: he fathered a son in the town twenty years ago and is now seeking to reconnect with his son and his past.
