Two friends, Charley and Jack, convince their classmate Fancourt to pretend to be Charley's Brazilian aunt, Donna Lucia, in order to have a chaperone for their romantic encounters with Amy and Kitty, the niece and ward of a strict old man. However, things get complicated when Fancourt, dressed as a woman, becomes the object of affection for both Spettigue and Sir Francis Chesney.
