A Thracian slave named Spartacus is sentenced to a lifetime of labor in harsh Egyptian deserts after being purchased by an obese owner at a Roman gladiator school. Moved by Draba's defiance as an Ethiopian warrior, Spartacus leads a slave revolt that threatens Rome. As his popularity grows within the Senate, Spartacus also faces Marcus Lucinius Crassus, who seeks to crush the rebellion personally.
