The Cylons, a long-dormant enemy, suddenly reappear and destroy the 12 human colonies, leaving the crew of the aging Galactica to safeguard the last remnants of humanity, a small civilian fleet, as they make their way to the fabled 13th colony, Earth.
The second Cylon war has ended, and the Twelve Colonies have been destroyed. Commander Adama and President Roslin lead a fleet of refugees in search of the fabled lost thirteenth colony, Earth. However, the dangers they face are numerous, including Cylon attacks and sabotage, internal political conflict, and shortages of essential resources.
