A man, recently fired, travels to a remote town in Argentina to care for the corpses of his mother and brother, who were brutally murdered. His only motivation is to collect a life insurance payout, allowing him to start a new life in Brazil. Along the way, he meets a local leader who was involved in his family's tragedy, and together they form an unlikely alliance to claim the insurance money.
