In the 1930s, Sir Winston Churchill, a former government leader, is now a backbench Member of Parliament, warning about German rearmament and a potential second major war. He supports himself by writing a biography, newspaper column, and has a close group of supporters, including his loving wife Clementine. Despite being shouted down in Parliament, Churchill continues to warn about Hitler, eventually providing accurate information that turns the tide. With the onset of World War II in 1939, Churchill returns to government as the First Lord of Admiralty.
