Jim Fletcher, a WWII veteran, awakens from a coma and faces a court martial for treason, accused of betraying fellow prisoners in a Japanese camp. He escapes and teams up with Martha Gregory, widow of a friend he's accused of informing on, and Ted Niles, a surviving prisoner. Together, they unravel a complex web of deceit involving a former Japanese prison guard, forged US currency, and a criminal network threatening to wreak havoc in southern California.
