Sun Valley Cyclone

Red Ryder and Little Beaver arrive in a small Arizona town, catching the attention of Blackie Blake. They visit Marshal McGaw's office, unaware that Blake is lurking outside, plotting to ambush Red from a window.

Red Ryder and Little Beaver arrive in an Arizona town, where they're met with hostility by the townspeople. Blackie Blake, the ranch foreman of Major Harding, tries to shoot Red from ambush, but his horse, Thunder, saves the day. Red demands a trial for Thunder, and in flashback, tells the story of how he acquired the horse, which was once considered unrideable. Red returns home to find his ranch in disarray, and he soon discovers that someone is using the Duchess and Major Harding in a dispute to distract from a larger scheme. Red calls a meeting to settle the dispute, but things escalate, and "Thunder" goes missing. Red finds the horse, sees the whip marks, and vows to find the owner of the saddle. The trail leads to the Arizona town, where Red recounts the events that led to Thunder's attack on Blake.
