Three bank robbers, Eijima, Nojiro, and Takasugi, hide out at an inn in the Japanese Alps, posing as tourists on a ski holiday. The police, aware of their presence, try to cut off their escape routes, leaving the robbers to decide whether to descend the mountain or risk heading further up. The trio takes refuge at a lodge, where they befriend an old man, his granddaughter Haruko, and their guest Honda, a seasoned mountaineer. As they plan to descend the mountain, the question arises: will they survive the treacherous terrain and each other's desperation if cornered?
