Roots: The Gift

In the midst of Christmas Eve 1770, a courageous young African warrior, who had been enslaved in America for three years, spearheads a daring escape attempt, guiding a group of fugitive slaves in a perilous journey to freedom in the North.

Kunta Kinte and Fiddler join their owner on a Christmas trip to another plantation in December 1775, where they discover that the owner's son secretly aids in slave escapes, prompting the duo to collaborate with him and seize the chance to break free themselves.
