In a tranquil postwar Tokyo household, a loving family of eight harmoniously coexists, with the only discord being the unmarried status of 28-year-old daughter Noriko. As societal norms shift, Noriko asserts her independence, befriending women and finding normalcy in her choices. When her boss proposes a marriage to a 40-year-old bachelor, the family urges her to accept, but Noriko decides to chart her own path, defying their expectations.
