Dissolution background

Dissolution

The film "Dissolution" loosely draws inspiration from Dostoevsky's "Crime and Punishment", blending surreal fairy-tale elements with stark black and white realism to examine the pervasive violence in modern Israeli society.

Inspired by Dostoevsky's CRIME AND PUNISHMENT, 'DISSOLUTION' is a film that combines surreal fantasy with harsh reality to examine violence in contemporary Israeli society. Set in Jaffa, the movie follows a young Israeli Jew's moral downfall and potential redemption, played by non-actor Didi Fire. The film is a personal exploration of one man's inner journey, as well as an allegory for Israel's moral accountability and a portrayal of male aggression towards women.
