Dean Hess, a former minister, joins the Korean War to train pilots but finds himself drawn to helping Korean orphans who are scavenging for food at the airbase. With the help of a kind-hearted teacher, he establishes an orphanage and soon discovers that protecting his new family requires making the difficult decision to take lives.
