The executive chef at a country house hotel navigates the demands of running a successful kitchen while also dealing with the challenges of working in a picturesque yet isolated environment.

In the heart of Hertfordshire, Thaxted Manor Hotel's The White House restaurant is helmed by Head Chef Roland White. However, Roland has become a laid-back slacker, leaving his sous chef Bib to handle the bulk of the work. With his team, including restaurant manager Caroline, waitress Kiki, apprentice Skoose, and hotel owner Celia, Roland must decide whether to strive for a Michelin star or maintain his comfortable routine.
