A fifteen-year-old girl named Velma discovers herself in a murder mystery after becoming the prime suspect. She turns to her best friend, Norville Rogers, who is always there for her even when she's not there for him. As Velma tries to solve the mystery and mend her friendship with Daphne Blake, she also asks for help from Fred Jones. All the while, Velma pursues her quest to find her missing mother and challenges the obstacles preventing her progress.
