Mysterious deaths within the global science community reveal abnormal disturbances, while Nanotechnology researcher Wang Miao enters an enigmatic virtual-reality game called Three Body and slowly uncovers the truth of the world. Alongside his journey, he encounters a strange organization known as ETO at his first player's meeting. Simultaneously, China's Battle Command Center assigns suspended police officer Shi Qiang to investigate accidents. Despite their initial animosity, they soon realize they must band together to face upcoming challenges.
