The Indian Doctor

A 1960s-set comedy-drama follows a dramatic shift in a South Wales coal mining community after the local doctor's death, as a surprising replacement sends shockwaves through the village.

In a sleepy 1960s Welsh mining town, the sudden death of the only doctor prompts a union representative to find a replacement from India. The new doctor arrives, surprising everyone with his superior education and refined culture. Despite this, he is warm and eager to assist the community. However, his wife looks down on the locals, comparing them unfavorably to the aristocracy of Delhi, and pushes for a move to London.
