The Green Man background

The Green Man

An alcoholic pub owner dreams of a 17th-century alchemist battling for good against evil. Based on Kingsley Amis's novel.

Maurice Allington (played by Albert Finney),an alcoholic, sexually promiscuous, and unappealing lead character, owns The Green Man Inn. He delights and terrifies his guests with tales of ghosts and spirits lurking within the property. When he learns they're real and malevolent, the atmosphere takes a turn for the worse—ranging from comical sexual farces to eerie ghost stories. This mini-series is aptly titled "A Ghost Story for Adults."
