A 1950s children's show sponsored by Quaker Oats. It underwent numerous format changes but always featured veteran actor George "Gabby" Hayes as the host. Hayes had previously played sidekicks in Western films like Hopalong Cassidy and Roy Rogers. The Sunday version aired from 1950 to 1952, while the weekday version ran from 1951 to 1954. Episodes featured Gabby narrating historical tales with child actors Clifford Sales and Lee Graham. Historical figures were dramatized in episodes such as John Paul Jones, Wyatt Earp, and Belle Starr. In 1956, a re-edited version aired featuring longer scenes from Western films. The show concluded permanently but some syndication episodes remained until the end of the decade.
