A cartoon series produced by UPA featured Dick Tracy, voiced by Everett Sloane, who played a relatively minor role. The main crime-fighting was done by his assistants, including Hemlock Holmes, an English bulldog with a Cary Grant-like voice, Heap O'Calorie, a beat cop with an Andy Devine-like voice, and Go-Go Gomez and Joe Jitsu, stereotyped Latino and Asian characters. The series also featured familiar Tracy villains from the comic strip, such as Flattop, Mumbles, and Pruneface.
