Daniel Glass is misdiagnosed with a fatal disease, leading him to notice that people treat him with more kindness and respect. He decides to continue the charade, but his lies soon escalate into criminal behavior.
Daniel Glass, a compulsive liar, is stuck in a failing relationship and dead-end job with a boss who micromanages him. Just when things can't get worse, he's diagnosed with esophageal cancer, but everyone treats him better because of his diagnosis, giving him a newfound zest for life. However, his diagnosis is later revealed to be a misdiagnosis by an incompetent oncologist, Dr. Ian Glennis.
