Dolly Rawlins has just been released from prison following 5 years in custody for murdering her husband Harry during a robbery with other women on a security van [see "Widows" (1983) and "Widows 2" (1985)]. Respected within prison circles, Dolly is now seen as a reformed individual. She teams up with ex-convicts including Gloria Radford (who ran a gun-smuggling operation),Ester Freeman (who owned a brothel),Connie Stevens (a prostitute),Julia Lawson (a drug dealer),and Kathleen O'Reilly (an art forger). The group plans to establish a children's home in an abandoned Victorian mansion. However, Dolly intends to carry out one final armed robbery on the mail train.
