In 1972, Vietnam veterans Mac Conway and Arthur return to Memphis, Tennessee, struggling to find employment. Mac reconnects with his family and tries to find work, but opportunities are scarce for veterans. He's approached by a mysterious figure known as The Broker, who recruits hitmen for various assignments. Initially hesitant, Mac is drawn in after learning that Arthur has already accepted a similar offer. He's given the code name "Quarry" by The Broker.
