The 1980s-set dance musical "Pose" brings together three distinct worlds in New York: ball culture, luxury society, and the downtown art scene. The show follows Blanca, who creates a self-selected family, a "house," for LGBTQ youth rejected by their biological families. Damon, a dancer, joins Blanca's house and competes in the balls against Elektra, Blanca's former house mother. Pray Tell serves as Godfather to the ball contestants, while Angel, a streetwalker, develops feelings for a new client, Stan, who is married to Patty. Stan's boss, Matt, is played by James Van Der Beek.
