Mayday background

Mayday

In a small town deeply rooted in pagan customs, the crowning of the May Queen is the most anticipated event of the year, but when she vanishes, a sense of panic sets in.

In the mystical town of Dorking, Surrey, the villagers of a heavily wooded town gather for May Day, an annual festival to celebrate ancient pagan rituals. The Queen of May Day, 14-year-old Hattie Sutton, cycles to catch up with the lead float in the parade, wearing a wreath of flowers and silky ribbons in her blonde hair. However, she never reaches the festival.
