A US ballistic missile submarine, the Colorado, receives orders to fire nuclear weapons at Pakistan, but the captain demands confirmation of the orders and is relieved of duty. The new XO, Sam Kendal, is left in charge and refuses to fire without confirmation, leading to the submarine being targeted and crippled on the ocean floor. Declared rogue enemies of their country, Chaplin and Kendal take the sub to an exotic island, seeking refuge, romance, and a chance at a new life while trying to clear their names and return home.
