In a land of dragons, breeders train their dragon buddies. Dragons are born from breeders marked by Seikoku, also known as star brands. Riding and taming dragons comes naturally to most students at Ansarivan Dragonar Academy - except for Ash Blake, a first-year student often referred to as the "problem child." Despite his unusual large star brand indicating he'll be a future dragon master, his dragon never appeared until now. One day, while competing against princess Silvia Lautreamont in a dragon race, Ash's dragon emerges in an unexpected form - a beautiful girl named Eco. Ash names her and discovers she has a rebellious spirit; she quickly tells him she's the master and he's her servant. Ash's difficulties with riding dragons are just beginning.
