Joan Kirkhope, an English retired nurse, discovers her husband Ian mysteriously died in Australia when she returns from Spain where he was supposed to be traveling. Meeting retired cop Jack Darby after a vehicle accident, they form a partnership investigating various mysteries together and assist each other.
