In a small Texas town, teenage idol Kate mysteriously vanishes. Overnight, Jeanette transforms into the envy of all, but her popularity comes at a terrible cost as she descends to the depths of hatred by 1995.
Cruel Summer is an unconventional thriller set over three summers, 1993 through 1995, in a small Texas town. The story revolves around beautiful and popular teen Kate who gets abducted, while Jeanette, initially a lonely girl, transforms into the most beloved yet reviled figure by 1995.
